Located on Grande-Synthe near Dunkirk, ArcelorMittal Dunkirk is a steel plant of the ArcelorMittal group.
A team of ten technicians, from the Rotating Machine mechanical department of the Le Havre branch and the Dunkirk branch, intervened for the removal of the low speed pinion of the reducer and for its complete assembly.
These maneuvers are complex due to the impressive dimensions of the pinions: 3500mm in diameter and 54 Tons for the low speed pinion and 30 Tons for the high speed pinion.
Our team ensured important coordination with systematic shutdowns before moving on to the following phases, so that the entire operation up to assembly is carried out with safety and serenity for the restart of the unit.

With a length of 8m and a height of 6m, each superheater weighs nearly 20T. All the components are in grade 91, thus offering excellent mechanical characteristics for operating temperatures of up to 650°C.
A great technical challenge, given the complexity of grade 91 welding, the 3224 DN 1 "1/4 welds and the size of the devices, made possible thanks to the professional expertise of the Fouré Lagadec teams in Berre and Le Havre. welding required phases of preheating at 200°C, post heating at 250°C and heat treatment at 750°C.
This year, Fouré Lagadec signed its first multi-year maintenance contract with the C.F.R., which would later become TOTAL Raffinerie de Normandie.
